THE OPPORTUNITY

The Institute for Sustainable Urbanism (ISU) is a research think-tank and design laboratory, based at TU Braunschweig headed by Prof. Dr. Vanessa Miriam Carlow. The LSC-PdP aims at developing a new interdisciplinary research field in an international and multidisciplinary network, establishing digitally supported forms of participation with a local and regional focus, and fostering public discourses on post-digitality and participation.

At ISU, the PhD examines and develops contemporary digital instruments and methods of participation in the context of urban planning, based on a thorough analysis of historical approaches to participatory planning processes in urban development. » sustainableurbanism.org
