Research Associate (m/f/d) Reliability on high temperature electronics

The team “Microelectronic Packaging” performs applied and fundamental research to develop reliable electronic microsystems, which fulfil criteria of robust manufacturability, long lifetime and are designed for sustainability. Due to the usage of wide bandgap semiconductors the operating temperature of the semiconductor can be increased. Today, many electronic systems have to operate at high temperatures. However, high temperature challenges the reliability of the electronic system. In the project a LED lighting module will be developed which targets applications with very high ambient temperatures. Reliability and lifetime of the module will be analysed and optimized to meet requirement of 100.000h test systems for lifetime assessment will be developed and set-up. In addition, methods will be developed to predict the lifetime and failure modes within accelerated and combined lifetime testing. In the field of failure mode analysis, lifetime prediction a PhD thesis can be linked to the project.
