CBI is the cornerstone of a rapidly expanding bioengineering ecosystem in the Munich science area; including the Research Center TranslaTUM and the Helmholtz Pioneer Campus, which integrate bioengineering with oncology and metabolic disorders, respectively. We now seek a highly qualified and motivated IT administrator (f/m/d) to support our state-of-the-art IT infrastructure.

The Mission:

The successful candidate will be pivotal in administrating, maintaining and further developing our institute’s IT infrastructure. In concert with the data centers of the Helmholtz Zentrum München and the Technical University of Munich, you will support our scientists and administrative staff in IT matters with your expert knowledge. Biological and medical imaging highly depends on cutting-edge image reconstruction and AI-driven data analysis, requiring state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions. To this end, you will provide support on hardware and software-related matters and maintain our IT hardware and our institute network. Due to the high amount of sensitive data generated by modern imaging techniques, a particular focus will be on secure and efficient storage and accessibility of imaging data. You will also provide your expertise to support our high-performance computing requirements. Furthermore, you will provide technical support for our web presence.

Qualification:

  • High motivation, leadership and commitment to excellence
  • Excellent bachelor or master degree in Computer Science or a similar field
  • Strong background in IT hardware, software maintenance and network administration
  • Excellent computer literacy in operating systems and user applications (e.g. office applications, VoIP)
  • Experience in administering websites (Typo3, HTML) and social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Team player skills and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment
  • Excellent command of the English and German language

Preferred skills include:

  • Strong expertise in state-of-the-art data storage solutions and high-performance computing
  • Programming and maintenance skills (e.g. Matlab, C/C++, LabVIEW)
  • Experience in image processing and algorithm development

Die Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) ist die Deutsche Zentrale Fachbibliothek für Technik sowie Architektur, Chemie, Informatik, Mathematik und Physik und arbeitet mit der Universitätsbibliothek Hannover (UB) im räumlichen und organisatorischen Verbund. Der Personalbestand der TIB/UB beträgt ca. 400 Beschäftigte.

In der Abteilung EDV und Technische Infrastruktur der TIB/UB ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt folgende Stelle unbefristet zu besetzen:

Der Arbeitsplatz ist teilzeitgeeignet.

GetInfo ist das Portal für technisch-naturwissenschaftliche Fach- und Forschungsinformationen der TIB. Das selbstentwickelte Fachportal bündelt den Zugang zu Fachdatenbanken, Verlagsangeboten und Bibliothekskatalogen. Durch die Kooperation der TIB mit den Fachinformationszentren FIZ Karlsruhe und FIZ Chemie sowie mit dem WTI-Frankfurt bietet GetInfo Zugriff auf alle technisch-naturwissenschaftlichen Informationen zu Architektur, Chemie, Informatik, Mathematik, Physik und Technik. Über verschiedene Bestell- und Liefermöglichkeiten wird die Fachliteratur bereitgestellt.

Aufgabengebiet
•    Betreuung und Betrieb der zum GetInfo-System gehörenden Applikationen und Systeme (Debian Linux/LXC)
•    Mitarbeit bei der Weiterentwicklung und Dokumentation des Systems in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der TIB Entwicklungsabteilung und den Fachabteilungen
•    Konvertierung und Pflege der von den GetInfo-Anwendungen benötigten Metadaten
•    Unterstützung der Anwender/innen beim Betrieb des GetInfo-Systems (2nd/3rd-Level Support)

Anforderungen
•    abgeschlossene Hochschulausbildung (Bachelor/FH-Diplom) einschlägiger Fachrichtung (vorzugsweise Informatik) oder vergleichbare Qualifikation
•    Kommunikationsfähigkeit und Teamfähigkeit

Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen in möglichst mehreren der folgenden Bereiche:
•    Linux (Debian), Linux Containers (LXC)
•    XML/XSLT
•    Skriptprogrammierung (bash, PHP, perl, python, etc.)
•    SQL und DB-Administration (MySQL/MariaDB)
•    Betrieb von Web- und Applikationsservern (apache/tomcat)
•    subversion

Für die Stelle kommen auch Bewerber/innen in Betracht, die nicht in allen Bereichen die gewünschten Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen vorweisen können. In diesem Fall ist eine Eingruppierung in Entgeltgruppe 10 TV-L vorgesehen.
