The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ invites applications for a position on

Statistical Consulting, Teaching and Coordination

to commence as soon as possible, working time: 100% (39 hours per week), initially limited to 2 years

Ihre Aufgaben:

• Development and coordination of a statistical curriculum with teaching modules on environmental statistics and teaching of introductory and advanced courses for PhDs and
   Postdocs
• Establishing a system of statistical consultation. Consulting for PhDs and Postdocs for all UFZ Institutes (Leipzig, Halle and Magdeburg). Possible collaboration in projects with high-level statistical methods
• Horizon scanning for new statistical methods and communication and transfer of those
  into the UFZ

Ihr Profil:

We seek a highly motivated, team-oriented scientist with expertise in statistical teaching and consultation as well as knowledge of a wide range of advanced statistical methods, including applications and experience in environmental problems.

• A PhD in a relevant field of natural or social sciences
• Professional experience in teaching statistics in environmental or social sciences
• Excellent written and spoken English language skills
• Experience in the conception and coordination of training programmes is beneficial
• An open-minded, organized team player with excellent communication skills
