The University of Konstanz, with its “Institutional Strategy to promote Top-Level Research”, has been receiving continuous funding within the framework of the Excellence Initiative by the German Federal and State Governments since 2007.
The Zukunftskolleg is a central scientific institution of the University for the promotion of young researchers in the natural sciences, humanities and social sciences, and is an integral component of the institutional strategy “Modell Konstanz — Towards a Culture of Creativity”, and partially funded by the European Commission's Marie Curie COFUND programme.
Applications are currently being accepted for the position of a
Program Director for Internationalization (Salary Scale EG 13 TV-L, working time 50-75 %)
in the Zukunftskollegat the University of Konstanz. Earliest starting date is 1 August 2015.
The position is initially limited until May 14 May 2018.
The person hired will be responsible for the conceptual and organizational design of the international focus within the Zukunftskolleg. This includes supervising, organizing, shaping and reporting the program for fellowships within the EU-funded “Zukunftskolleg Incoming Fellowship” program. The Program Director will develop and supervise events (workshops, seminars, co-teachings), future strategy and structure of the Zukunftskolleg, administer the activities of the fellows, and represent the Zukunftskolleg within the University as well as on a national and international level.
We are looking for a person with strong organizational and communication skills, an open personality, who can take responsibility and is eager to move things within a team of collaborators. Prerequisites include a completed research doctorate in any discipline, interest in interdisciplinary research questions, grant writing skills, experience with international higher education institutions, confidence in an academic environment, as well as a fluent verbal and written knowledge of the English language. Experience with the administration of European grants, fundraising, and knowledge of German are welcome, but not required.
