The Institute for Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) and the Chair for Biological Imaging are a multi-disciplinary academic and research structure integrated at the Helmholtz Zentrum München and the Technische Universität München (TUM). With a strong international profile, support by public and private funding and having received several prestigious national and international awards, IBMI leads innovative imaging and sensing technologies, advances bio-medical discovery and translates novel sensing technologies to clinical applications. To support our fundraising activities, we are now seeking for a highly talented and motivated

Scientific fundraising manager (m/f)

The mission:

  • Lead applications for funding from national and international funding agencies
  • Scout funding opportunities
  • Support developing, authoring, and compiling grant proposals together with IBMI scientists
  • Coordinate proposal submission and fund administration
  • Financial controlling, compilation of financial and scientific reports
  • Communication with external partners and national and international funding agencies
  • Organizing and participating in project meetings / workshops in Munich and abroad
  • Public relations and marketing activities
  • Proof-reading of scientific texts

Your profile:

  • University degree in natural sciences or engineering, preferably with a PhD degree
  • Business-oriented skills or background
  • Excellent analytical skills and marketing ability of new ideas
  • Outstanding writing skills, experience with independent writing of scientific texts
  • High organizational and management skills
  • Commitment to familiarize with new, interdisciplinary research projects
  • Team-spirit and ability to work in a highly international and interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent English and German skills
  • Solid IT skills (MS-Office, Photoshop, etc.)

The position does not require particular knowledge of our research topic, but ability to combine information from scientists into successful messages and proposals. Necessary training on knowledge fields associated with IBMI’s research topic will be provided. The contract will initially be limited to 1 year with the possibility for further extension. Salary is commensurate with work experience and seniority (TV-L E13).
