The Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging (IBMI) at the Helmholtz Zentrum München (HMGU) in Munich, Germany, and the Chair of Biological Imaging (CBI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are an integrated, multi-disciplinary research structure focusing on developing optical and optoacoustic imaging and sensing methods to measure previously inaccessible properties of living systems, with the goal of catalyzing breakthroughs in biology and medicine. We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Scientific Project Manager (f/m) to begin in August 2017.

The mission:

The IBMI science management team provides comprehensive administrative support to IBMI scientists, giving them room to focus their full creative potential on developing the imaging techniques of tomorrow. The Scientific Project Manager will manage projects funded intramurally and externally by German, European and international agencies (e.g. EU, DFG, BMBF, NIH). This work will involve financial and human resource management, as well as preparation of financial and scientific reports. The Manager will work at the interface between IBMI scientists and the central administrations of HMGU and TUM, external partners and national and international funding agencies. The Manager will organize and participate in project meetings and workshops in Munich and abroad, and she or he will support IBMI public relations and marketing activities.

Your profile:

The successful applicant must have the following:
• University degree in natural sciences or engineering, preferably with a PhD degree
• Experience in scientific management with a focus on research fund administration and finances, especially for EU projects
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Commitment to learning about new, interdisciplinary research projects
• Experience with independent writing of scientific texts
• Excellent presentation skills
• Collaborative spirit and ability to work on a highly international and interdisciplinary team
• Flexible, solution-oriented, and able to work independently
• Excellent command of German and English
• Solid IT skills (MS Office, funding agency portals etc.)
• Skills or background in business are an advantage

Die Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft sucht zur Vorbereitung und Betreuung eines neuartigen, interdisziplinären Forschungsprogramms eine Programm-Managerin bzw. einen Programm-Manager. Inhaltlicher Schwerpunkt dieses neuartigen Forschungsprogramms, in dem gezielt Open Innovation Prinzipien und Methoden (z.B. Crowdsourcing) angewendet werden, sind psychische Erkrankungen mit einem Fokus auf Kinder und Jugendliche.

Aufgaben

Aufbau und Betreuung des interdisziplinären Forschungsprogramms „Psychische Erkrankungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen“, insbesondere folgende Aufgaben:

• Konzeptionelle und organisatorische Durchführung von innovativen Ausschreibungs- und Auswahlverfahren

1. Vorbereitung und Umsetzung von Informationsveranstaltungen, Jurysitzungen, Workshops mit interdisziplinärer Ausrichtung
2. Aufbereitung von Informationen für wissenschaftliche Bewerberinnen, Stakeholder und Kommunikationspartner
3. Qualitätssicherung und Projektmanagement

• Unterstützung bei organisatorischen Fragen im Zusammenhang mit der der Gründung der neuen Forschungseinheit
• Unterstützung und Begleitung des laufenden Forschungsbetriebs im Hinblick auf Organisations- und Managementfragen mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf Performancemanagement
• Begleitung der Implementierung von Open Innovation-Prinzipien und –Methoden in den laufenden Forschungsbetrieb 

Anforderungsprofil

• Hochschulabschluss (vorzugsweise im Bereich Gesundheit) oder gleichwertige Qualifikation
• Hohe Eigeninitiative und Lösungskompetenz bei neuartigen Fragestellungen, unternehmerisches und kreatives Denken
• Erfahrung mit der erfolgreichen Umsetzung komplexer, dynamischer Multi-Stakeholder-Projekte (Controlling, Kommunikation, Begleitung von Teams)
• Affinität zu Themen der Forschung , des Forschungsmanagements und Erfahrung im Umgang mit WissenschaftlerInnen und ForscherInnen unterschiedlicher Disziplinen
• Idealerweise Interesse/Vorerfahrung in den Bereichen  Open Innovation, Citizen Science, Open Science
• Ausgezeichnete sprachliche Ausdrucksformen in Deutsch und Englisch
• Sehr gute IT-Anwenderkenntnisse (MS-Office, Online-Datenbanken) sowie Erfahrung im Umgang mit Social Media
• Hohe Motivation, Umsetzungsorientierung, Flexibilität und Serviceorientierung
• Ausgeprägte Teamfähigkeit, soziale Kompetenz und kommunikative Fähigkeiten

Die Stelle ist eine unbefristete Vollzeitstelle mit einem Mindestgehalt von € 3.200.- brutto monatlich (je nach Qualifikation und Erfahrung ist auch eine höhere Einstufung möglich).

Projektbeschreibung /Hintergrund

Als erste europäische Forschungsorganisation hat die Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft 2014 einen Crowdsourcing Prozess zur Generierung wissenschaftlicher Fragestellungen gestartet. Knapp 20.000 BesucherInnen der Online-Plattform aus über 80 Ländern und 400 hochwertige Beiträge – dieses Resultat schaffte die Crowdsourcing-Initiative „Reden Sie mit!“ im Bereich psychischer Erkrankungen. Die Erwartungen von ExpertInnen wurden weit übertroffen. Die Fragestellung „Welche ungelösten Fragen zu psychischen Erkrankungen soll die Wissenschaft Ihrer Meinung nach aufgreifen?“ beantworteten Betroffene, Angehörige, ÄrztInnen, TherapeutInnen und andere ExpertInnen auf einer Online-Plattform in großer Intensität. Die eingereichten Beiträge wurden analysiert und geclustert, von der Crowd und einer Fachjury bewertet und zu Forschungsansätzen verarbeitet. Die Ergebnisse dieses Prozesses sollen nun gezielt im Zuge neuartiger interdisziplinärer Forschungsaktivitäten aufgegriffen und auch mit Hilfe von Open Innovation Methoden und Prinzipien erforscht werden.
