The Social Sciences and Humanities are influential for all EU Member States and for the European Commission. Thousands of researchers carry out research in a vast array of themes of national and international interest. They do so taking into account their organizational structures, framework conditions, as well as cultural preferences and political priorities in their countries. The Metris Report 2010 analyses the policy setting system, the funding system and the performance system in the Social Sciences and Humanities in Germany.
